Objective:The purpose of this study was to evaluate the change in clinical spectrum and outcomes of invasive fungal disease involving the anterior skull base region.
Study design: This study represents a retrospective review of the patients diagnosed with acute and chronic invasive fungal rhinosinusitis based on imaging, fungal staining and culture, biochemical analysis and histopathology report. The anterior and central skull base, and orbital content involvement were assessed clinicoradiologically and intraoperative findings.
Setting: A tertiary referral hospital.
Results: There were total of 79 patients, with 45 males and 34 females, divided into two groups invasive aspergillosis and rhinocerebral mucormycosis based on imaging, fungal staining and culture and histopathology report for ease of understanding management of each group
Conclusion: Change in the clinical presentation of mucormycosis in post covid infection was seen.
